Dr. Allison Kaplan was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with Honors at Brandeis University in Massachusetts for her undergraduate education.  Dr. Kaplan then returned to Texas to earn her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1995.  Her family medicine residency was completed here locally at Scottsdale Healthcare in 1999.  In addition, she has been a Board-Certified Family Physician since 2003.  Dr. Kaplan also has a Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians. Since 2003, she has been in private practice in the East Valley.  Dr. Kaplan has been employed by Desert Grove Family Medical since 2007.

Dr. Kaplan has had a wide range of clinical experiences from occupational medicine, urgent care medicine, clinical research investigation, and of course, family medicine.  Her main focus, as with most family physicians, is prevention and encouraging her patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  She cares for the entire family from the newborn, to adolescents, and adults.  Also, her scope of practice includes some dermatology, psychiatry, women’s health care, and sports medicine. In addition, she is an assistant clinical professor at   the University of Arizona’s School of Medicine where she teaches first- and second-year medical students in her office.

During her off-work hours, Dr. Kaplan enjoys family time with her husband and 3 young daughters.
